The “Revolve Design Challenge is the annual design and innovation contest conducted by Apollo Tyres Ltd. for university students. The purpose of this contest is to encourage out of the box thinking and crowd sourcing of ideas which will shape the future of transportation. This purpose aligns very well with the Apollo Tyres brand vision of Driving progress, Together ”. With every passing year this Industry & Academia collaboration is taking on new challenges to make Apollo tyres future ready in this ever-evolving world of mobility & transportation.”

“ Apollo Tyres is building tyres that perform well as well as they look good and have mass appeal. To realize such products, there are multiple ways consumer insights are collected and implemeted. Having extensive Voice of Customer capturing is the foundation of design process being followed at Apollo Tyres. ”

We would like to collaborate with students and faculty of reputed universities in the following areas:

Emerging technologies in Design Research: The process of designing new products involves many research methods such as user research, market research, trend study, Market gap analysis etc. These research methods are evolving with time using power of new age computational techniques. We want to leverage our design research capabilities by incorporating these techniques namely Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Data mining and so on to mention a few.

Innovation in Mobility & Transportation: Research work focusing on new trends in people and goods movement such as Electric vehicles technology, high speed ground transportation, micro mobility vehicles & last mile parcels delivery systems etc.

New age manufacturing techniques: We are interested to explore Process automation in tyre manufacturing, 3D Printing of variety of materials for prototyping or Fabricating new design concepts, Innovative chemical or mechanical bonding processes of materials which can be helpful in tyre manufacturing and emerging technologies which are improving conventional manufacturing processes and techniques.

New age material science research: Developing new material compositions for improving mechanical or chemical properties, to find industrial applications in context to tyre industry. Additionally, finding new usages applicable to tyre industry for existing materials
